Production operations teams in companies such as Uber, Google, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are handling millions of data points per second and analyzing it all in real time to keep their hyper-scale applications up and running.
While this kind of high-end production is uncommon at this point, the trend is moving steadily toward more and more data being stored and analyzed for business purposes similar to this.
With each passing day, two distinct trends are becoming prominent: More companies are investing in analytics and/or artificial intelligence, and value is being lost in business data. Speed of processing and data access is fundamental to this entire process.
The Hive, an investment service and IT incubator of sorts based in Palo Alto, Calif., will host a special panel discussion event Feb. 9 to discuss “AI-Powered Analytics for Production Operations” and how this is working in the real world. The event is open to registrants only (see the link below).
The panel will discuss how using specialized AI can provide the analysis and observability needed throughout the application stack to deliver prescriptive remediation and maximize application performance and uptime.

Panelist: Justin Fitzhugh, Instart Logic
Justin Fitzhugh is the Vice-President of Technical Operations for Instart Logic, the world’s first endpoint-aware application delivery solution that makes applications fast, secure, and easy to operate. Instart Logic’s platform combines machine learning, visualization, and open APIs with a content delivery network (CDN) for global delivery.
Previously, Fitzhugh was the CIO and Vice-President of TechOps for Jive Software and Vice-President of Engineering Operations for Mozilla.
Panelist: J.F. Huard, Ph.D., Founder and CTO of Perspica
Passionate about product design, architecture and technology, Huard is a hands-on leader in analytics, platform integration and enterprise system management software.
His work and research interests have focused on the application of data science within complex IT environments. For the last 20 years, he has grown and managed technical organizations of various sizes and developed new products incorporating real-time data analysis and detection.
Under Huard’s technical leadership at Netuitive, the company was recognized by Red Herring as one of the 100 most innovative private technology companies, and its products won awards such as the Morgan Stanley CTO Innovation Award, CODiE Best Systems Management and Best of VMworld.
Panelist: Manoj Chaudhary, CTO and Vice-President of Engineering, Loggly
Chaudhary grew up in India and came to the United States in 1999. He has spent 15 years as a technical leader at a variety of Silicon Valley companies.
Before joining Loggly, Chaudhary worked as Director of Engineering at Jive Software, where he built four different cloud-based analytics products. Prior to Jive, he worked as Director of Engineering at Cast Iron (acquired by IBM), where he was responsible for building and releasing the three different cloud-based products.
Chaudhary loves great technology and is passionate about building products that are both powerful and simple-to-use.
Moderator: Chris Preimesberger, Editor, Features and Analysis at eWEEK
Chris Preimesberger was named Editor of Features & Analysis at eWEEK in November 2011 and has been with the publication since 2004. He covers a range of IT sectors that include data center systems, IoT, cloud computing, storage, analytics, mobile devices and IT governance.
Preimesberger won a national Eddy Award from Folio Magazine for feature writing in November 2011 for a cover story on Salesforce.com CEO/founder Marc Benioff. In January 2017, he was named among the internet’s top 100 influencers “on the topic of influence” by Scienceofdigitalmarketing.com.
